Terms of Service

Last updated: September 2026

1

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using MakerMic, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2

Platform Services

MakerMic provides a marketplace connecting project owners with creative talent (songwriters, singers, musicians, and engineers) for music production collaboration. We facilitate the connection, communication, and payment processing between parties.

3

User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.

4

Payments and Escrow

MakerMic uses a secure escrow system for project payments. Funds are held securely until project milestones are marked as complete and approved by the project owner.

5

Intellectual Property Rights

Unless explicitly agreed otherwise in a specific project contract, the project owner typically retains ownership of the final work product upon full payment. Talent retains the right to display the work in their portfolio unless a non-disclosure agreement is in place.

6

Prohibited Content

Users may not post content that is illegal, offensive, infringing on intellectual property rights, or harmful to others. MakerMic reserves the right to remove any content that violates these terms.

7

Limitation of Liability

MakerMic is not responsible for the quality of work produced by talent or the conduct of project owners. We act solely as a facilitator for the collaboration.

8

Playlist of the Week & Rankings

The Playlist of the Week highlights finished projects based on an automated ranking system that considers the number of plays and total community investment. Manipulation of these metrics (e.g., botting plays) is strictly prohibited and may result in project removal or account suspension.

9

Project Flagging

Projects that violate our Terms of Service, including copyright infringement, offensive content, or fraudulent activity, may be flagged by administrators. Flagged projects may be removed from public view, rankings, or the platform entirely without refund.
